Support Merseyside

The continued support to enable a broad reaching support to different producer sizes and points in the supply chain.

Actions: Development of a cooperative approach that will encapsulate fresh, beverages, preserve, processed and frozen food from the best of Merseyside's producers. Aims to add value, develop processing and packaging facilitites, develop distribution, create a backroom network, develop and access new markets and be an effective player in supplying public procurement. This will not be an initiative to help or assist, it will be farmer/producer controlled businesses that will be commercially driven.

Beneficiaries: All growers, producers and processers will be able to contribute towards the project.

Grain storage

Agronomy development group

Proposed intervention

Proposed intervention for Support Mersey grant is 40% to a maximum of £100K. The minimum grant level is £2k for a £5k project, Eligible expenditure is an invoice supported by a cheque of bank transfer with evidence of defrayment from a bank statement. CASH PAYMENTS are ineligible items of expenditure.

The project has to demonstrates additional turnover and Gross Value Added (GVA) this a measure of a business that is made up of wage costs, depreciation, interest payments and profit. Funding is only available to trading enteritis (sole traders, partnerships, Limited companies, social enterprises, charities and cooperatives).

Only one form needs to be completed for this grant and needs supporting by three quotes for the work to be carried out, any relevent legal requirements including planning permission and proof of match funding.
